Tropical Storm Nicholas - Sept. 13, 5:00 pm
Nicholas is expected to produce storm total rainfall of 6 to 12 inches in coastal counties, lesser amounts inland. Isolated higher amounts are possible. Life-threatening, flash and urban flooding impacts are possible where heavier more intense rain bands occur later tonight and early Tuesday. The center continues to be difficult to identify. There has been a slight shift eastward in its track. Landfall forecast this evening. There is still an off chance it could reach minimal hurricane status before landfall.
- Forecast to track inland, parallel to the coast, over the next five days. Still some uncertainty in the speed and track.
- Flash flooding, storm surge, and high winds are also a concern.
- Windy, rainy conditions overspreading the area this evening from SW to NE.
- Most models shift the heaviest rainfall out of the area Tuesday morning.
