Rice University Weather

TROPICAL STORM BERYL IS NOT OVER YET. WEATHER CONDITIONS REMAIN HAZARDOUS. DO NOT TRAVEL UNLESS IT IS AN EMERGENCY.

Beryl continues to push out of the area, but continues to produce strong wind gusts across portions of SE TX as it departs to the northeast. It will continue on a weakening trend until eventually reaching Tropical Depression status this evening after it has departed our region. Flash flooding as a result of Beryl`s rains, in addition to storm surge and flooding along rivers, streams, and bayous, is ongoing. Those in impacted areas should continue to follow the advice of local officials. Never attempt to drive through a flooded roadway. If you have lost power and are using a generator, never turn it on indoors or in a garage. This can result in potentially fatal carbon monoxide poisoning.
