• Change your passwords if you suspect a breach.
• Contact Rice OIT immediately if university data or systems are at risk.
• Report Rice IT systems failure or security incidents.

• Use strong passwords and two-factor authentication.
• Do not provide personal information online.
• Use end-to-end encrypted communications and encrypt your device.
• Store and share your data securely.
• Protect your personal Wi-Fi network.

How to Recover

After a cyberattack, evaluate what was stolen and file reports with local law enforcement and the FBI.

Report identity theft to the Federal Trade Commission at identitytheft.gov.
