Sept. 22 5:00 pm Tropical Depression Beta Update

Tropical Depression Beta has weakened further, now with maximum sustained winds of just 30 mph. Although wind is not a concern, the storm could still cause flash flooding as it moves slowly across the area. There will be a threat of flash flooding from showers and thunderstorms that develop near and north of the forecast track and also from feeder bands that come in off the Gulf of Mexico.

Minimal coastal flooding will still be a concern tonight and tomorrow around times of high tide although water levels should gradually decline with each day.

Once the storm moves post on Wednesday conditions should improve. The university will continue to monitor conditions and update the campus community.
