Reminder: COVID-19 Vaccine Booster Clinic- Grand Hall-RMC on Oct. 27, 11am-7pm

dusk on campus

This is a reminder that we are partnering this week with the Houston Health Department to provide the third fall COVID-19 Booster clinic for our Rice Community members and their families. The Clinic will be on Thursday, October 27, from 11:00 am until 7:00 pm in the RMC Grand Hall.

Vaccines will be available for people ages 5 and up at this clinic. If you are unclear as to whether or not you are eligible for a booster, the Houston Health Department defines eligibility for this clinic as:

  • People who have received all primary series doses and people who have previously received one or more original (monovalent) boosters.
  • If you previously received a booster, you must wait at least two months since the last COVID-19 vaccine.
  • At this time, people aged 12 years to 17 years can only receive the updated Pfizer bivalent booster.
  • Please consult with your healthcare provider for additional questions.

All walk-ins are welcome on Thursday, however, to reduce your wait time, we strongly suggest pre-registering for an appointment by calling the Houston Health Department. If you wish to sign up for an advanced appointment time, please call the Houston Health Department at 832-393-4220, select “5” to speak to a call center representative, and request an appointment for your COVID-19 booster at the Rice University Vaccine Clinic on October 27. We recommend you bring your Vaccine Card/Record and your identification.

When we have reached the doses provided for the day, we will send out an email to let the campus know that the Clinic no longer has availability outside of previously scheduled appointments.

We hope you will take this opportunity to receive the booster.
