Students who have a car with a Rice parking permit and are concerned about parking lots flooding this weekend can move their vehicle to the Campus Entrance 3 Garage between noon and 3 p.m. today. However, their car will have to remain in the garage until the university reopens because there will not be staff available to open the gates to the garage after 3. Rice employees who are staying on campus this weekend can also use this parking option if they will not need access to their car until the university reopens.
The east entrance to the garage by Entrance 3 on Main Street at Cambridge Street will be accessible only from noon to 3. The elevator in the garage is not working yet, so you will have to use the stairs to exit the building. The garage is an active construction zone, so students and employees should move slowly and carefully while inside the structure.
