Dear Rice community,
The National Weather Service is advising of an arctic cold front moving through Harris county and the surrounding areas late Saturday night and into Sunday. A hard freeze will be a threat Sunday night through Tuesday night with cold wind chills anticipated.
With subfreezing temperature on the way, it is important to remember the 4 P’s:
- People: check on vulnerable family, friends, and neighbors
- Pets: bring your pets inside. If it is too cold for you, it’s too cold for your pet
- Plants: bring plants inside if you can, or cover them to help them stay warm
- Pipes: cover and insulate pipes when temperatures are expected to be freezing or below
