Just a few timely reminders about this afternoon:

The university will close at 3 p.m. and will remain closed through 11:59 p.m. Saturday. Shuttle service on campus will end at 3:30 p.m. today.

Resident students who want to move their cars to the Campus Entrance 3 Garage as a safeguard against flooding must do so by 3 p.m. today. Other students who have a Rice parking permit and employees who are staying on campus for the weekend can move their cars to the BRC Garage until 6 p.m.

The Crisis Management Team is keeping a close watch on Harvey and will announce decisions about the university's operating status for the remainder of the weekend and early next week as we monitor the storm's progress.
