The needs assessment indicates that nearly 600 members of the Rice community suffered water damage to their vehicles from Harvey. To assess who might need help with transportation to campus this week, we will be emailing a form to all of those who indicated vehicle damage. We will then use the information to match respondents with people who are offering to carpool or vanpool. We will use ZIP codes of the responders to match drivers and riders. Please be on the lookout for the form.

A few reminders:

• Rice will reopen Tuesday. We have been able to ensure that fall classes will resume next week. Not all campus services will operate at full capacity, and we ask for your patience and understanding as we get the university up and running again.
  
• If you want to request a crew of student volunteers to help you clean up the damage done to your property by Harvey, send an email to helphouston@rice.edu. If you want to volunteer for the Rice Harvey Action Team, go to http://ricesa.org/hurricane-harvey/.
  
• If you have a child currently or previously enrolled in the Rice Children’s Campus and plan to bring siblings between the ages of 2 months and eighth grade to the RCC next week, send an email to Karen.Gatten@discovercece.org no later than noon Monday, Sept. 4.
  
• We have a very limited number of slots available for care for school-aged children on campus that will be provided by an external vendor. If you feel you will need to use this option, please fill out this short child care survey: https://emergency.rice.edu/childcare.
  
• The list of Emergency Weather Resources compiled by Rice's Human Resources Department can now be accessed via a blue button in the left column on emergency.rice.edu.
  
• The Rec Center will be open Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and the pool will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The center will be closed on Labor Day and will resume normal hours Tuesday.
  
• Fondren Library will be open Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. The library will be closed on Labor Day and will resume normal hours Tuesday.
