Crisis Management Team Update - Hurricane Delta

Rice’s Crisis Management Team is closely monitoring the progress of Hurricane Delta, which is now forecast to come ashore along the southwest Louisiana coast Friday afternoon or evening.

The National Weather Service does not expect this storm to significantly impact our area. Nonetheless, we’ve completed all of the preparations typically implemented on campus before severe storms. We’ll monitor the storm’s progress overnight and notify the campus community if there are any changes in plans, but at this time all classes and other campus activities will proceed as scheduled on Friday.

We especially want to emphasize that all COVID testing centers will remain open on Friday. If you’ve scheduled a test on Friday, please be sure to keep your appointment for your COVID test.
