Tonight’s Rice University Undergraduate Convocation ceremony will occur outdoors in the Academic Quadrangle.
Due to weather considerations, the ceremony will begin at 7:00, 30 minutes earlier than scheduled in the previous rain plan. The program will also be shortened to allow guests to leave earlier than planned.
The National Weather Service forecasts a possibility of light rain Friday evening, so guests may want to bring umbrellas or other rain gear. Close-toed shoes and other appropriate footwear are also recommended.
A decision on Saturday’s Plenary Commencement will be made later, depending on weather developments in the coming hours. We will continue monitoring conditions overnight and release an update on commencement ceremony plans by 6:30 a.m. Saturday.
