The Rice Crisis Management Team has been monitoring the rapidly evolving weather in the Houston area overnight. Both the campus itself and access routes near the campus are presently clear of standing water.

Rice University is open today, Friday, May 10 . We expect most events, including graduation events, to continue as planned. However, there may be some exceptions.

As always, events connected with convocation and commencement ceremonies will be live streamed, so guests have the option of staying home and watching ceremonies online.

We realize some school districts are closed today. Employees who are dealing with special circumstances, including travel and child care issues, should use their discretion and contact their supervisors about their work schedules today, including the possibility of working at home.
